How to Connect to DCRI Enclave - Synthesia Videos (American and British Versions)

Situation: Our sponsors and clinicians needed secure, on-demand access to analytical data using the Enclave Remote Desktop. Previously, this training was only delivered via a scheduled VILT course, which was not always compatible with the demanding schedules of clinical professionals and research sponsors.

Task: As the Instructional Designer, I was tasked with creating a self-paced, video-based solution that not only mirrored the content of our live sessions but also offered a more personal, relatable experience for a diverse audience.

Action:

To meet this need, I designed and developed two Synthesia video walkthroughs—one with an American avatar and another with a British avatar, to demonstrate how to securely access and use the Enclave Remote Desktop.

1. I collaborated with SMEs and stakeholders to define critical learning objectives and system steps.

2. Each video includes a human-like avatar introduction, guiding users through the process with clarity and professionalism.

3. The dual avatar approach was intentional to represent our global learner base, allowing users to select the version that feels most familiar or comfortable to them.

4. I also integrated branded visual elements and concise scripting to mirror our quick reference card while offering a more interactive learning experience.
   

Result: These videos have become part of our just-in-time learning toolkit and are highly valued for their user-friendly, accessible format. They’ve supported reduced reliance on live training sessions and enabled learners to revisit the material as needed. The diversity in avatar selection also reinforces inclusivity and user-centered design in our training strategy.
