Situation: At Worldpay, many new sales representatives were struggling with efficiently entering and tracking sales leads in Salesforce. This learning deficiency was causing delays and errors in the sales process and affecting overall sales performance.
Task: As the instructional designer, I was tasked with creating a how-to video for new sales representatives through the process of entering sales leads into Salesforce correctly and efficiently.
Action:
Conducted a survey among new sales representatives to identify common issues and bottlenecks they experienced while using Salesforce.
Reviewed the existing Salesforce training materials to identify gaps and outdated information that needed updating.
Developed a script for the video that outlined step-by-step instructions.
Created a video using Camtasia of the Salesforce interface and real-time demonstrations of the lead entry process.
Edited the video using Camtasia with annotations and highlights, making it easy for representatives to follow and learn.
Distributed the video directly through the Salesforce knowledge base, ensuring easy accessibility.
Distributed surveys to collect responses from the sales representatives about the video’s effectiveness and areas for improvement.
Result: The how-to video was highly effective, with over 80% of new sales representatives reporting increased confidence and efficiency in using Salesforce to enter leads. The error rate in lead entry dropped by 40% within fourth months of the video's release. Additionally, the video was integrated into the onboarding process for all new sales representatives, ensuring consistent use of Salesforce across the team.
