Passion for Learning and Serving Others

While I find immense joy in learning new things, my true passion lies in serving others. Although I like to think that service comes naturally to me, I owe much of this inclination to the strong women who have influenced my life since birth.

I was fortunate to grow up with a grandmother whose cheerful giving spirit remained unwavering throughout her life. Her radiant smile and endless affection for children made her an extraordinary presence. Though she wasn’t my biological grandmother, she was the epitome of what a loving elder should be. Her kindness, resilience, and generosity, especially toward children, left a lasting impact on me.

My mother, the eldest of six children, took on immense responsibility at a young age. At just 17, she became the caregiver for her ill parents—her father, a courageous veteran, and her mother, a fearless protector—along with her younger siblings. Through her, I learned the value of reading, independence, family, and the importance of pride in one’s work and dreaming big.

This page highlights the various ways I channel my talents into giving back to the community. I believe that we are truly better together and look forward to contributing to your team as a future employee.

Unlabeled Leadership

Anchor Podcast

One of the most rewarding aspects of networking on LinkedIn is finding individuals with similar mindsets. Previously, I had the pleasure of meeting Gary DePaul, who introduced me to his podcast, Unlabeled Leadership. Ranked 17th on Feedspot's Top 10 Leadership Podcasts, Unlabeled Leadership reaches listeners in 85 countries and 873 cities, with episodes broadcasted across 31 podcast platforms.

Gary graciously invited me to join his podcast to share my personal leadership journey. While I consider myself a "reluctant leader"—someone who naturally leads but prefers individual contributor roles—I often find myself in advocacy or leadership positions due to my passion for helping others. During the episode, I discuss my experiences with this dynamic and other insights from my career.

IFEL

Entrepreneurial Ecosystem

Through Verizon's volunteer program, I had the opportunity and continue to engage with the Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership (IFEL). This program has been particularly fulfilling as it allowed me to support women of color and small business owners navigating uncertain times.

IFEL offers three impactful programs: Women of Color Connecting, The Making of Black Angels, and Small Businesses Need Us. These initiatives enable volunteers like myself to leverage our business expertise in areas such as website development and UX design, social media marketing, and business plan creation. I have actively participated in their Hackathons for Website UX and Social Media Marketing.

The experience has been incredibly enriching. The resilience and talent of the business owners I’ve worked with have been a source of inspiration, and I've learned as much from them as they have from me.

HOA Board of Director

Community Activism

Serving as a board member for my former community was not something I anticipated enjoying. As a first-time homeowner, I was more focused on settling into my new home and decorating, leaving the responsibilities of the HOA to others. However, when I observed the impact of the current board’s leadership on my home and those of my neighbors, I recognized the importance of getting involved in the HOA, even if just as a supporter.

This realization led me to take on the role of President of our HOA. During my tenure, I addressed key financial and covenant issues and fostered community unity.

One notable achievement was organizing a "Back to School" event, which included backpacks, school supplies, and entertainment for local children, all generously sponsored by our vendors. This event not only brought joy to the children but also marked a rare moment of unity within our diverse community.
