Situation: With the rising interest in plant-based diets, many YouTube viewers express curiosity about vegan recipes that are both easy to make and delicious. Tofu scramble, a popular vegan alternative to scrambled eggs, are of particular interest to viewers who are interested in switching to a more vegan lifestyle, as long as the food is tasteful.

Task: As a content creator with a focus on vegan cooking and at the time of the making of this video, a student in a Masters program for Instructional Technology, I was tasked with producing an engaging and educational video that would teach viewers how to make a vegan tofu scramble that doesn’t just mimic eggs, but offers a unique and tasty breakfast option.

Action:

1. Conducted research on various tofu scramble recipes to identify common challenges and best practices, such as achieving the right texture and flavor enhancement techniques.

2. Developed a unique recipe that included easily accessible ingredients and incorporated spices and vegetables to enhance the dish’s appeal.

3. Scripted the video to include step-by-step instructions, cooking tips, and nutritional information, ensuring content was both informative and easy to follow.

4. Filmed the video using DSL cameras, lighting, Boom pole shotgun microphone, and Sure ZOOM microphone in a kitchen setting, using a multi-camera angles to capture detailed cooking processes and dynamic angles to keep the video visually interesting.

5. Edited the video using Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro to include pop-up graphics with ingredients and additional cooking tips, enhancing viewer engagement.

6. Uploaded the video with SEO-optimized tags, a descriptive title, and a compelling thumbnail to maximize visibility and appeal to a broad audience on YouTube.

Result: The vegan tofu scramble video was highly successful based on feedback from my professor and peers. Viewer feedback was positive, with many commenting on the ease of the recipe and the helpful tips provided.
