Global Travel Security Awareness Training - Vyond Video Sample

Situation: Verizon’s Global Travel team needed a new approach to communicate critical business travel procedures to employees. The existing online hub was dense with information but lacked organization, interactivity, and engagement. Moreover, there was no formal way to ensure employees had reviewed or understood the materials—creating compliance risks for international business travel.

Task: As an instruction designer, I was tasked with designing and developing a more engaging, trackable learning experience that would:

1. Clearly communicate global travel procedures

2. Ensure compliance by verifying employee participation and understanding

3. Transform a static resource into a narrative-driven, interactive course that could be reused globally

Action:

To bring the vision to life, I partnered with the Global Travel team and led the development of a Vyond video series as the foundation of a fully interactive training program.

Key actions included:

1. Scriptwriting for all episodes, including the Welcome/Introductory video, which introduced learners to the travel compliance journey in a clear and relatable way

2. Performing voice narration for key characters and integrating AI voiceovers and sound effects for a polished, cinematic experience

3. Building a Rise course wrapper that housed the entire video series, included knowledge checks for comprehension, and enabled tracking and reporting for compliance

4. Applying best practices in microlearning and visual storytelling to maximize retention, while keeping the tone approachable and informative

Result: The final solution was a standout success for the Global Travel team. Key outcomes included:

• A fully SCORM-compliant Rise course that enabled tracking of completions and assessment results for internal audit and compliance requirements

• A highly engaging multimedia format that made important travel policies easier to access, understand, and remember

• Positive feedback from employees who appreciated the modern format, clear guidance, and engaging tone

• Broader adoption of Vyond + Rise video-learning models by other departments seeking innovative compliance training approaches
